 We’re very excited to announce our new clinic focused on teaching soaring techniques for the training hill. Yes, a training hill soaring clinic!
For many years we’ve been suggesting that the training hill is possibly the BEST summertime thermal site in SB, if you know when, where and how to fly it, and stay safe. Not only is the hill an easy to access and really fun site to fly, but it also presents the unique opportunity to dial-in your thermal skills, in a challenging and repetitious environment - unlike any other. The soaring skills that pilots learn here translate nicely to most mountain soaring sites, and also help to build the confidence needed during those low saves while cross country flying!
 Specifically, in this clinic we’ll be teaching pilots of all levels how to improve their low altitude soaring abilities, how to safely and enjoyably soar the training hill as the conditions change in the afternoon, and we’ll share a very cool theory on the weather and thermal dynamics that are somewhat unique to the hill. Other topics to include: Equipment to fly, How to see the thermals, A detailed mapping of the reliable thermal locations, Best connection routes, low altitude soaring and thermalling, safety, and much, much more.
The information we’ll present has been targeted at pilots of all skill levels, from fresh P2’s looking to expand their new skills in a safe manner, to the more experienced thermal and XC pilots looking to dial in a great summer thermal site.
 This clinic is scheduled as a one-day clinic. We start at 9am with a stimulating ground school discussion, followed by an afternoon at the hill working to implement some new concepts under radio guidance, wrapping up in the evening with a final debrief discussion.
Cost for this one-day clinic is $200.
