Hello From Salt Lake City, UT.

This is just a quick note regarding the purchase of gliders from outside the US and regarding support of locals instructor/ dealers.

First, make no mistake. You can buy paragliders, or anything for that matter at a better price from another source. If you take the time and hunt hard enough you can actually save money on your initial purchase. No one in the paragliding business is trying to pull a "fast one" on you. We know that you are smart and savvy enough to seek out a lower price.

We would like to suggest a different option, however. We would like you to consider the idea that there is a difference between price and value. We do not offer the best possible price, but we are sure that we offer the best possible value. Here's how it works. We would like to sell you some equipment and offer you a benefits package including the following;

  • advice on which paraglider best suits you individual needs and the opportunity to try a variety of makes and models
  • domestic access to a variety of makes and models
  • a courtesy test flight to confirm the airworthiness of your new paraglider
  • radio supervision during your test flights and subsequent first flights on your new paraglider
  • the opportunity to change sizes or models if you discover that the paraglider is not to your liking
  • instruction and advice throughout your flying career
  • "big brother" supervision and a shared radio frequency throughout your flying career (especially if you want it)
  • assistance if you ever need replacement lines, repairs, inspections and a loaner glider if you need one
  • special price consideration in case of a stolen, or totaled glider
  • the chance to try any makes and models (harnesses, gliders, motors etc.) that come through town even if you aren't in the market for a new glider
  • rides, up the hill, down the hill etc.
  • maneuvers, paramotoring, thermalling, tandem and instructor etc. courses
  • trips, tours...
  • video
  • advice from us and and other industry experts as to how you can have greater enjoyment and success in your free-flight endeavours
  • the opportunity to trade in or sell your used paraglider
  • an advocate for free flying throughout the area
  • an available instructor and tandem pilot when your friends want to join you
  • a retail shop where you can go to see the newest gadgets
  • a nationwide network of instructors that offer guiding, fellowship and hospitality
  • an importer/ distributor that supports upwards of twenty pilots including the foremost aerobatics pilots in the country along with World Cup champions and world record holders, the US paragliding team and every last fly-in that you could possibly travel to
  • an importer/ distributor that will take responsibility for warranty protection on your paraglider for its entire lifetime regardless of the demise of the manufacturer
  • instructors and importers that are heavily involved in the national organization, publications worldwide and videos of all kinds
  • camaraderie, hospitality, fellowship, brotherhood and support that we (instructors, importers etc.) wish that that we could give to every pilot (and we try), but that we can only afford to give to the people that are willing to purchase their equipment and the above mentioned benefits FROM US.
  • there is simply not enough time or space to mention every last benefit, but this is a start and you get the idea.

The choice is yours. If you choose to purchase elsewhere, we will try to give you as much of this package as we can, hoping that you will see the value and be inclined to support us over the long term. If you do support us, then we will all put our heads together and try to make this package bigger and better for you over the long term.

If it seems like we are passionate about this, or if we take it personally when you purchase elsewhere, it's because we are and we do. We like what we do. We feel like we offer a great service and we want to be able to continue to do so over the long term. We all want and need to make a living and we will make no excuses if we happen to be successful. In fact, we are successful, we are still in business and we intend to keep it that way. We will make sure that you feel appreciated and that you feel like purchasing from us was a good thing. In the odd event that you are made to feel like you weren't appreciated or your decision to support us was not a good one, then please, tell us and we will make it right. That is our promise to you.

Please, when you choose to spend money on paragliding equipment; make sure that it is both fun and easy. Spending money should be, right? But, consider the tremendous benefits package that is available to you for under a thousand dollars. Consider whether or not it seems like it is worth it. Ask a friend how the package is working out for them.

Fly Above All is one of the most wildly successful schools in the nation, they are closely aligned with some of the foremost importer/distributors in the continent. Together, they are a winning team. This is no accident. The entire team works tirelessly to provide the best possible experience for the customer. We would like you to remain a part of this throughout your free-flying career.

Thank you for your consideration,

Chris Santacroce
